Al reported to me as a division president at ITT and led his team to growth in revenue and profitability. He was recognized for this by receiving the ITT Chairman’s Award for Growth. He led his team by first developing a strategic vision, then executing a plan based on both organic product development and acquisitions. He was known for his collaborative leadership style and his ability to craft unique strategies, consistent with articulated leadership Values, for his business segments. His emphasis on leadership development contributed to the promotion of several managers to higher responsibility levels. These skills are the same ones needed in a strategic management consulting role and I strongly endorse Al for such client-centered assignments.
